My passion for painting flora and fauna stems from my love of nature. My childhood was spent surrounded by nature and it has shaped my vision of the world around me. Inspired by the 18th century natural history illustrations and books, I use a multi-layered watercolour technique that gives realism to my wildlife and botanical paintings. My goal in natural history illustration is not only a realistic representation of a plant or an animal but also finding a way to reveal its character. One of my favorite subjects are natural ecosystems and interdependence of species, that creates natural balance.
By painting the natural world I want to draw attention to the beauty and the fragility of natural world. My paintings have been purchased by private collectors around the globe and have featured in exhibitions both in Italy and Russia.
